“Love Satire” by Kieran Holland

Love is a game of strategy like chess
If you make the wrong moves
It will end in a mess.

At first you meet and feel animal attraction
Then comes the hard part, the human interaction.

We’re complicated beings
And even more are relations
You think it will last
But it ends in frustration.

Some people just mesh
While others repel
If you love the wrong person
Your life will be hell.

You say you love your mother
But you hate when she nags
You say he’s your buddy
But you hate when he brags.

Relationships, we crave them
But they’re the source of so much pain
Being madly in love
Without being insane.

All waiting for love
Like watching ticking clocks
Love and relationships
Our giant paradox.
