“The Mask” by Maggie Sue Traynor

Her vindictive persona thrives on the energy

Like the last breath of a lifeless body

She’s like a heartless predator that awaits her prey

Ice water pulsates through her veins, there is no blood,

For she has no human components. She is like death

Waiting to pounce on the innocence of humans. She wears

Many masks, she appears to be like a chameleon. She changes

As fast as the flashing lights of a vehicle which passes by that

Represents danger, death and destruction. Yes, she would like

Us to believe that she is kind, caring and helpful. Beware, for she

Wears many masks.
